Ryan Adams Is So Good

My roommate Drew and I like to talk about how good music from the 60s was and wonder why these days Nickleback is one of the highest selling bands. Well, good music is still being made. Ryan Adams is still making good music, and a lot of it. Including his work with the band Whiskeytown before he went solo, Ryan Adams has released 12 albums, 2 eps, probably 4 or 5 more albums worth of b-sides, and also has countless other unreleased albums and songs. Quite a prolific guy, and most of it is pretty amazing. Most people have heard "When The Stars Go Blue" and thus have some idea of how good he is, but he has so much great material to listen to, that you basically hate music if you don't own all his records. So, but some Ryan Adams records.
*Edit: Note - I just realized that my favorite song by him "Oh My God, Whatever, Etc." is told from the perspective of a prostitute. Anyway, it's a really beautiful song. So listen to it.

Also, buy other records like 19 by Adele. She makes soul music in a similar vein to that of Amy Winehouse. I don't think this record is quite as amazing as Back To Black, but it's still really good. Hopefully Adele won't do tons of drugs and get emphysema. "Right As Rain" is my favorite.

Hugz 'n' kissiz,
Sean
